midsummer mulberries

Amulet and I got a good soaking picking mulberries after a rainstorm ...

The ripe ones just fall off the tree on their own ... especially when the branches are heavy & wet.  This is all I could scavenge from the kids.

This is all that made it into the actual bowl ...

Magnus wants to like them - but  he just can't get there.

I love how wild she is ...

One last thing ...

It's been so chilly here, our mulberries aren't *quite* ripe yet -- soon, I hope! Our tree is enormous, and laden with ripening berries.

The butterfly on the shoe is lovely :-)

Peace and blessings to you, Greenlee!

Are these what we call blackberries in England?

DH has been picking them in our garden today so I have cooked them with the windfall apples. Very juicy, put no liquid in the pot yet they are very mushy.

DH made jam with the first pickings, we have so much jam and yesterday vicar's wife gave us a bag of plums. More jam, but I would like to prepare fruit and freeze so we could use for crumbles in the winter.

Thank you Ellie ... I will take your blessings!!!

You too momto5!!! ;) Much love to you!

T - I am not sure if these are the same berries. People do make jam of mulberries here, but they are people far, far more talented than I ... :)
